Born and raised in Cleburne, Texas, Sonny Burgess recalls music as a way of life at the Burgess home with the extended family playing on the front porch every Sunday afternoon. A self-taught guitar player, Sonny has been performing since his childhood. After college and a short career as a professional baseball player, Sonny began performing professionally in Texas and several other states, eventually becoming a house favorite at such high profile clubs as The Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville,TN and Billy Bob's Texas in Ft. Worth, TX.
Music City Records, re-released his WHEN IN TEXAS album in April 2003. Four radio singles from the album, When In Texas, It Must Have Been Something I Said, Alone With You and A Woman's Touch all charted in the Top-10 of the Texas Music Chart and the latter two singles began raising Sonny's profile nationally. In March of 2003, A Woman's Touch broke into the Top-40 on the nationally respected Music Row Breakout chart.
